suffered from hearing loss in her left ear and paralysis of the
left side of her face. An MRI found the Acoustic Neuroma and doctors
urged her to have surgery but she wanted to explore more options.
She tried acupuncture of several months. After some time, she contacted
UCSF and combined with their efforts and those of the insurance
company, she was treated with the CyberKnife at Stanford University
Medical Center. She had tremendous anxiety that she would never
smile again but she is very willing to demonstrate that’s not the
case. She was inspired by the thought that when bad things happen,
it’s an opportunity to bring out the best in you.
